UNKNOWN SARDINIA - Orgosolo and Mamoiada

An entire day dedicated to lovers of authenticity, who escape from the usual tourist routes, to discover the Sardinian hinterland. The mountainous region of Barbagia hides the wildest side of Sardinia. A unique opportunity to learn about flora, fauna, traditions jealously guarded and handed down over time, the daily life of small villages suspended in the mountains. We will visit Mamoiada, where time seems to have magically stopped, and its Museum of Mediterranean Masks. The masks of Mamuthones and Issohadores, the solemn celebrations of the Carnival and the patronal festivals are fundamental elements of the culture and identity of this place. We will then proceed to Orgosolo, formerly a refuge for bandits, now famous for its murals, which have made it an open-air art gallery. We will continue towards the Supramonte, where a typical lunch, based on local products, will be served directly by the shepherds.
We will taste Sardinian cheeses, sausage, roasted piglet (porcheddu), carasau bread and Cannonau wine. Later on you will assist to a folk show.
We will listen to the cantu a tenore, recognized by UNESCO as the cultural heritage of humanity. The pristine nature, food, music and a breathtaking view will be the setting for an experience that will remain in your memory for a long time!
